AI Energy Monitoring
htop-style GPU and accelerator monitor that charts power draw across many vendors.
NVTOP stands for Neat Videocard TOP, an htop-like task monitor for GPUs and accelerators that handles multiple GPUs and prints their information in a familiar way. It supports AMD GPUs through the amdgpu and legacy radeon drivers, Apple M1/M2 (limited), Huawei Ascend, Intel i915/Xe drivers, NVIDIA's Linux driver, Qualcomm Adreno, Broadcom VideoCore, Rockchip, MetaX, Enflame, Tenstorrent and Iluvatar CoreX. The chart section plots selectable metrics including GPU and memory utilisation, temperature, power and clocks alongside PCIe RX/TX load. The tool is licensed under GPLv3 or any later version.
Fits Linux administrators and researchers who want an htop-style live view across mixed accelerators, with charts for utilisation, power, clocks and temperature and vendor coverage spanning AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, Apple silicon and several AI accelerator families. The trade-off is that it is a terminal monitor: no logging, aggregation or API is recorded, so historical and fleet-level analysis needs another collector, and the Apple support is documented as limited. GPLv3 licensing matters if it is redistributed in a commercial image. Teams needing programmatic metrics should use a telemetry exporter instead.
